Movies
In 2-3 hours time, you are asked to influence a large number of people from varying background with innumerable opinions. One of the most effective way is cinema. It may be documentary, tv/web series or movie. It evokes emotions – you cry yourself, you become empathetic, you enrage, you laugh at the end you become one with a character which is so alien to you just 2-3 hours before. You feel for that character, you think what I can do to a lifeless and imaginary character. – Well I guess by this time you might have figured out I love movies.

ಕನ್ನಡ-Kannada
- ಉಳಿದವರು ಕಂಡಂತೆ (Ulidavaru Kandanthe) – a cult movie from my favorite actor Rakshit Shetty. And he directed it, wrote it and guess even wrote lyrics for it. What an acting!! What a story!!! “As seen by the rest” – a perfect tagline which sums up the movie.
- ಲೂಸಿಯಾ (Lucia) – I should not compare any movie to another if story is not same. Yet this movie is special. It makes somehow springs the comparison to momento and inception. Direction by Pawan Kumar, acting by Shruthi Hariharan and Satish.
- ಉ-ಟರ್ನ್ (U-Turn) – Though ending is little unexpected in a bad way, yet the story building throughout the movie is awesome. Again a Pawan Kumar direction. Sharadha Srinath has acted well so are the other actors Roger, Dileep, etc.
- ರಂಗಿ ತರಂಗ (RangiTaranga) – A suspense thriller, nice story. Again a fresh way of showing the suspense and horror movie. Anup Bhandari a multi talented director.
- ಅಟ್ಟಹಾಸ (Attahasa) – A biography has to be directed like this. It gives full story realistically and yet so nicely showed. Suresh what an acting.
- ಕಿರಿಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ (Kirik Party) – Ahh is there a story??? nope there are memories which will make you to watch it again and again. An another Rakshith Shetty adventure. Everyone in the movie has done their job so perfectly.
- ಗೋಧಿ ಬಣ್ಣ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಮೈ ಕಟ್ಟು (Godhi Banna Saadharna Maikattu) – A socially relevent topic and a good story nicely shot. For an actor to show his/her talent, they dont need dialogues or some actions. Just facial expression is more than enough – Anant nag. He will steel the show without much dialogues.
- ರಾಮ ರಾಮ ರೇ (Rama Rama Re) – Movie begins with Ramayana and ends with Bhagavad Geeta. A man’s life, his environments influence, his actions and his duties. A concept is shown so nicely.
- ಬೆಳದಿಂಗಳ ಬಾಲೆ (Beladhingala Baale) - Story between a chess grandmaster and an annoymous well wisher. Chess master tries to solve series of puzzles to find the annoymous well wisher.
- ಗುಳ್ಟು (Gultoo) - A first of its kind in Kannada where it explains how data is equivalent to gold. The story has good twists and turns and sums up the social message well.
- ನಿಷ್ಕರ್ಷ (Nishkarsha) - Bank robery turns into hostage scenario. A die hard cop is given the case to rescue the hostages.
- ಪ್ರತ್ಯರ್ಥ (Prathyartha) - Mysuru Dasara, a plan to assasinate an important dignitary. Ramesh Arvind, a common man is forced to follow orders. The film revolves around how he finds friends from unkown quarters and tries to save everything.
- ಶ್ (Shhh) - An Upendra classic. An horror story. It has enough of humor scenes, suspense, horror elements and a strong story.
- ಬೆಲ್ ಬಾಟಮ್ (Bell Bottom) - A police constable who has dream to become a detective, gets an oppurtunity to prove his mettle when a series of burglar happens in the town.
- ಉಗ್ರಂ (Ugram) - The most I like about this movie is its strong character building of the hero. Even the cinematography of the movie and dialogues are a treat for viewers.
- ಒಂದು ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯ ಕಥೆ (Ondhu Motteya Kathe) - Comedy in a movie should be situation based. This film shows it. An important topic is taken for the film and the situations make you laugh as well feel sad about the hero’s condition.
- ಕವಲುಧಾರಿ (Kavaludhari) - What to say about this movie. Two murders need to be solved. A cop takes interst and starts solving it. The way mystery unfolds and the way it is explained, it is really in another level. Its a must watch.
- ಆಪರೇಷನ್ ಅಲಮೇಲಮ್ಮ (Operation Alamelamma) - Police trying to solve a kidnap and suspect is a common man who is a branded item freak. The story revolves around this common man. The humor and the mystry combination is biggest plus of this movie.
- ಶುಭಮಂಗಳ (Shubhamangala) - A Puttanna Kanagal movie based on a novel. A 70’s movie, where female protagonist needs to be independent and full fill her promise to father. Along with that needs to maintain her friendship with male protagonist.
- ಸಿಂಪಲ್ ಆಗಿ ಒಂದು ಲವ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ (Simple aagi ondhu love story) - hero goes and meets a heroine and discuss about their past relationship. A simple story and yet the way it is laid out is different. Film dialogues, editing, cinematography are a big plus.
- ಸರಕಾರಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆ (Sarakari Hiriya Prarthamika Shaale) - A school needs to be protected from the clossure. Students take it upon themselves to save it. Kids and Ananth Nag acting takes this film to next level.
- ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳ್ಬೇಡಿ (Yarigu Helabedi) - One of the Ananth Nag Ganesha series. Ladies of an Appartment complex dream of buying individual houses. They take help from Ganesha a “well wisher”.
- ಗಣೇಶ ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ (Ganesha Subramanya) - Another of Ananth Nag Ganesha series. Two brother’s want to lead a bachelour’s life. The difficulties faced due to female dominated society.
- ಗಣೇಶನ ಮದುವೆ (Ganeshana Madhuve) - Yet another Ananth Nag Ganesha series. The fight between the renters and owner of the appartment complex. The hero is the representative to fight the cause of renters.
- ಗೌರಿ ಗಣೇಶ (Gowri Ganesha) - Yet another Ananth Nag classic. A guy who comes to know about the secrets of a woman and uses it to blackmail and teach the men who caused trouble to her.
- ಆಪ್ತ ಮಿತ್ರ (ApthaMitra) - A couple buys a haunted house against the recommendation of their relatives. The hero arrives to help solve the problem. I guess actress Soundarya’s last movie and what an acting she has done!!!
- ವ್ರಿತ್ರ (Vrithra) - A lady cop is given to file a report of a sucide case. What she uncovers goes beyond a simple sucide case. A slow and yet an engaging mystry.
- ಲವ್ ಮೊಕ್ಟೈಲ್ (Love Mocktail) - Its a simple story where there are hero’s multiple past relationships stories. Yet its a feel good movie. I guess situation and humor is nice. At the end it makes you feel.
- ಕಪಟ ನಾಟಕ ಪಾತ್ರದಾರಿ (Kapata Nataka Patradari) - An auto driver is called by police for an enquiry about missing people. Driver narates his story about the Auto.
- ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ (Nanna Prakara) - A cop is tasked to investigate a car accident. His search to find the identity of desceased person in the car leads him to more mystries.
- ಚಂಬಲ್ (Chambal) - This is a story of the D K Ravi. The film gives its view in a very good way.
- ಅವನೇ ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ನಾರಾಯಣ (Avane Srimanarayana) - Set in a fictional town, a tussel between two brothers, a missing treasure and funky cop. The film has its short comings and yet is nice watch.
- ಅಳಿದು ಉಳಿದವರು (Alidu Ulidhavaru) - A ghost buster goes to a haunted house to disprove that ghost exists. A horror and suspense movie.
- ಬೀರ್ಬಲ್ ಟ್ರೈಲಾಜಿ (Birbal Trilogy) - A lawyer takes up client case who is falsely accused of murder.
- ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ (Striker) - Hero is not able to identify whether an incident happening in life is real thing or dream.
- ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ (Ikkkat) - Husband and wife trapped inside the house due to COVID restrictions.
- ಆಕ್ಟ ೧೯೭೮ (ACT 1978) - A pregnent woman and an old man takes law into their hands to fix the law and corruption
- ೭೭೭ ಚಾರ್ಲಿ (777 Charlie) - If you are lucky a dog will come to your life and change your life
- ವಿಕ್ರಾಂತ್ ರೋಣ (Vikrant Rona) - A police visits a village infested by a devil. A son returns to his parents in the same village after many years at the same time.
- ಕಾಂತಾರ (Kantara) - Daiva as a Kshetra pala protects its belivers through generations
- ತುತು೯ ನಿಗ೯ಮನ (Turtu Nirgamana) - A young guy stuck in a cycle of death needs to find a purpose.
- ಮೇಡ ಇನ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು (Made in Bengaluru) - 3 young guys wants to build a startup in Bengaluru.
- ಆಚಾರ್ & ಕೊ (Aachar & Co) - A young girls journey from being so full of herself to taking the responsibility of complete family
- ತತ್ಸಮ ತದ್ಬವ (Tatsama Tatbava) - A wife lodges a complaint that her husband is missing and the interrogation with multiple peoples to understand the truth.
Telugu
- Pelli Choopulu – Some movies just feels perfect. After watching it, you feel elevated or it just brings a nice small smile by pulling your cheeks at the opposite direction. And this is one of that movie. Nice story, acting.
- Srimanthadu – A nice social concept taken and made a movie. A good lesson which can be adopted also. There are those telugu movie extra strength fight scenes but overall its a good one.
- Swamy Ra Ra – Luck, heist, robbery and conning each other. That sums up the movie. And yeah a small love story.
- Surya vs Surya – What will you do if your life is only in the dark. Well make that dark colorful. Thats the gist of the movie.
- Pilla Zamindar – Though looks like high level story taken from an hollywood movie. I am not able to recall the name, but yes the movie is customized well to suite the Indian audience.
- s/o Sathyamurthy – A typical Telugu movie and yet with a twist. Son, who learnt life ethics from his father is trying to clear the bag image of his father.
- Brochevarevaru Ra - Two unusual story converging, both stories are equally interesting. Cinematography is very good. Suspense, dialogue and humor makes it a great watch.
- Evaru - A police interrogating a suspect about the missing person. Story is well written with lot of suspense and twists, which makes it a must watch.
- Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya - A detective trying to solve the case of missing people. As he investigates, he unravels a bigger conspiracy.
- Jersey - Story of a talented batsman, who leaves Cricket and his fight to make a come back.
- Awe - Different stories converging to a point. An unusual story to say.
- Naani’s Gang Leader - 5 ladies who have lost their loved ones form a gang and approach a crime novel writer to help them finding culprit.
- Bahubali 1 & 2 - A fictional story held in ancient India. There are many aspects in this series - graphic, the grandness and also the story is well written. Offcourse there are multiple places there extra not needed power of hero is shown but overall its a great watch.
- Mallesham - Story was a poor weaver’s son. How he sees the difficulties faced by his mother and try to invent a machine that can solve her mother’s problem.
- Bommarillu - A love story and a family drama. Hero wants to come out of the shadows of his father and try to make independent decisions.
- HIT - A very intelligent police officer needs to solve a missing girl case to get to the bottom of his girlfriends missing case.
- Bhale Manchi Roju - When multiple people wants to take revenge on different people on a single day.
- Middle Class Melodies - Struggle of a middle class young man to start a hotel.
- Sreekaram - A farmers son wants to become a farmer
- Pushpaka Vimana - A newly married wife elopes and husbands efforts to hide this infront of society and also efforts to find his wife.
Tamil
- VIP - Story of an unemployed civil engineer. The life of an unemployed and once he becomes employed, the fight against injustice.
- Vikram Vedha - I guess story is inspired from Vikram Bethal folk story. Fight between a strict encounter specialist cop and his arch rival a gangster don. In this fight between them, they need to find who are their friends and enemies.
- Naanum Rowdy Dhaan - A cops son who aspires become a don. He gets a chance to prove his mettle when he meets a deaf woman who wants to take revenge of another don.
- Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum - Female protragonist is a software engineer, who lives in Chennai independently. As her company gets shutdown, and she is layed off, now she needs to find a new job. In her difficult times, she finds unusual friend in a male protragonist who is a rowdy/bouncer.
- All in All Azhagu Raja - Watch this film for humor. A middle class man who runs his own TV channel in a small town with his friend. He falls in love with a girl who is pampared and has “world is run by her” attitude.
- Chekka Chivantha Vaanam - This is a story of a mafia don and his 3 sons who wants to control his empire after his demise. An unusual cop who aides them in their fight for control.
- Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru - A murder, missing person and an accident. All looks to be linked to each other.
- Thambi - A missing son of a politician is found after 15 years. The story revolves around how the son joins back the family and how he went missing in his childhood.
- Soodhu Kavvum - A kidnap gone wrong. Do not look for morality.
- Maayavan - A serial killer who seems to come back after dead.
- Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran - A minster with location of huge stash of money has lost his memory!
- Malaysia to Amnesia - A husband has to cover up his affair as well as explain the reason of how he survived a missing plane tragedy.
- Doctor - An army doctor teams up with ex fiance’s family to rescue kidnapped niece.
- Dejavu - Things happen as written by a writer in his story.
- Kamali from Nadukkaveri - A girl from village wants to study in IIT
- Raththam - A retired journalist comes back to journalism to solve his friends murder.
- Por Thozhil - A newly appointed DySP is teamed with an experienced police officer for solving a serial murder case.
Malayalam
- Action Hero Biju – One of the best cop movie. Just show the life of cop, no need to put some masala and all to glamorize it. Just a normal life itself is worth a great story. This movie shows it.
- Janamaithri - The humor of this movie is top notch. A police initiative to improve the public relations of department towards the people, a simple common man who is visiting to see his fiancee, a group of car theives, a mysterious sticker theives - all results in humorous situation.
- Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 - A son brings in a robot to take care of his adament father. Father who generally hates any company builds an attachment towards that robot.
- Njan Prakashan - A lazy common man who wants to go abroad and settle there. He wants to achieve this without any of his efforts. The ways he tries to achieve this forms the underlying story.
- Hotel Usthad - Dream of becoming a chef who goes against his father. His grand father teaches him what it takes to be a chef
- Bangalore Days - Three friends - two guys and a girl, each have their own tastes. After graduation, all three of them end up in Banglore due to various reasons. Each try to find happiness in their life.
- Annmariya Kalippilaanu - A young school girl wants to warn her PT sir, so she hires a goon for this.
- AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum - The rivalry between two guys. Every incident leads to questioning of rivals ego.
- JOSEPH - A retired police officer starts investigating his ex wife’s accident.
- Oru Vadakkan Selfie - A simple selfie can lead to lot of disastor. The comedy is the +ve of the movie.
- Gauthamante Radham - A youngster’s dream to have his own car.
- Helen - hmmm kind of casteway and 127 hours.
- jacobinte swargarajyam - A business man is cheated during the global financial recession. Son needs to continue the business in these turbulent times to pay back the investors.
- Manoharam - An art enthusiast needs to update his skills for the latest trends in technology.
- Trance - It shows how the religion is used for business taking the example of proped up Christian Pastor and how he takes the assembled group into a trance.
- Godha - A girls dream to do big in wreslting, an old wrestler who wants to bring back the golden days of wrestling in the village. The son of the wrestler somehow connects.
- Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela - A mother is diagnoised with cancer. The film is all about how they face that news and carry on with their life.
- North 24 Kaatham - An person having OCD had to spend an entire day in a city in an unplanned events at unplanned places.

- Neram - A day can have as many twists as possible.
